Obituary of David Zeleck Levy

David Z Levy, age 81, a 24 year resident of Las Vegas, passed away Tuesday, February 22, 2011. David was born April 3, 1929 in Wildwood NJ to the late Monty and the late Rose (Kovnat) Levy. David served in the Navy during WWII as a corpsman in San Diego. He attended college under the GI Bill and later worked as an administrator for the federal government. David was an avid reader and extremely proud of his children and grandchildren. After moving to Las Vegas, David felt so good that he came out of retirement to work for the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. David is survived by his wife of 47 years, Sylvia Levy; children Monti Levy of Las Vegas, Deborah (Jason) Griffin of Washington DC and Stephen (Darlene) Waters of Boynton Beach FL; stepdaughter Shelley Deppa of Brookville MD; grandchildren, Sara Adkins, Janetta Deppa, Gabrielle Griffin, Allison Griffin, Maxwell Levy-Morrow, Annabelle Levy-Morrow, Adriana Levy-Morrow and Alexandra Levy-Morrow; and great grandchildren Carson and Rhianna Adkins. Contributions may be made to the Down Syndrome Organization of Southern Nevada or the American Cancer Society. A memorial service will be held at 11AM on Fri., Feb. 25 at Kraft-Sussman Funeral Services, 3975 S. Durango Dr., #104, 89147, with lunch to follow at the family home.
