Our deepest sympathies are with the Orrison family. He is missed by so many people. Our family knew "Doc" when we lived in Albuquerque many years ago. He was such a good man, always ready to help anyone and everyone. He played basketball with his gang at Midtown Sports and Wellness and enjoyed exercising at the health club where we all worked out. He blessed our family so much with his positive attitude and loving heart.

Sending my condolences, blessings and prayers to Bill’s family. Bill was a good friend and was always happy to spend time together when I was in Las Vegas. He made a special connection with my family especially my father Fred Kakis and sent the most wonderful letter to my mother upon his passing. I’m saddened by this great loss and I always remember and cherish the good times together.
Best Regards,
Paul Kakis,

My sincerest condolences to the Orrison family. I grew up in Minneola, KS, and Bill's father was our primary physician until the day he passed. I am assuming that Dr. Orrison lived in Minneola as an understudy of Dr. Richardson, but once Dr. Richardson left, Dr. Orrison went to Meade, KS to continue his practice...well, we followed him to Meade and he was such a wonderful man and doctor. I knew that he had a son named Bill around my age, but I never met Bill...he went to school in Meade and I went to school in Minneola, graduating in 1968. I know that Bill must have been just like his father, and the world is a better place because of both of them. I guess I can forgive Bill for going to KU...I graduated from KSU...but in the end, we all love each other, right? I have lived all over the world as did Bill, so I know the joy he found in meeting and living with other cultures, etc. I am now retired and live happily in Frisco, TX. Again, my condolences, but I had to send a note. I received Bill's obituary from my brother in Hutchinson, KS, after he found it published there. Here is my view on life now, as I lost my partner in April...he died in his sleep while we were on vacation in Costa Rica:
"Time is precious...don't waste it...you don't know how much you have left"

Dr.Orrison made time to teach and review neuroradiology cases with the neurology residents at the Univ. of New Mexico while I was a resident there. He was an excellent teacher, very personable and somehow recalled all of the neuro residents names even though he was in the Radiology department.
I was pleased to find out while I have been practicing here in Las Vegas that he had later moved here and was practicing here. He remained as friendly and helpful as he had been in the residency program. He has always been willing to take time to explain and to help whenever he could.
He will be missed in the medical community.

In the years since I met Bill, I have reflected many times on how he saved my life. During a very difficult time he showed genuine interest in my trials and listened to me in my time of need, even though he had obligations that kept him occupied 18+ hours a day. I would not have made it through that period without his love and concern. I gave him a painting depicting the Savior Jesus Christ helping a child from a torrential river. I was the child and he was my savior at that time. He will forever be an example to me of genuine love, caring and concern.

Bill has been a constant in my life since before kindergarten. His Mother and Father lived in the upstairs of our home for several years while his Father worked his practice in Bill's grandparents' home one block away. And after his Father accepted a position in a practice in Kansas they moved but continued to come back each summer for several years. Bill came back several times as an adult with his family to visit where we would catch up on each other's lives and share family experiences, past and present. One visit his children were baptized in a small historical church in Burkittsville, MD where his great grandfather was once a pastor. I will miss knowing Bill is out there somewhere and could call any day to begin the planning process for his next visit. These times were special times that will remain with me for the rest of my life. Bill was a big presence with a big heart and will be missed by me and many others. Even though Bill was the planner I would love to hear from his sisters and children and would love to help them plan a visit back east to explore his and their family's early life experiences. My condolences to everyone.

It is with deep sympathy of Bill's passing primarily only because he was too young. I know with the other near death experiences he wasn't afraid to die just not ready. He probably had other "bucket list" things to do. He was a remarkable man and the evidence of humility is when you read his accomplishments in life that speaks volumes of his humility since there were so many things that I was not aware of. What I was aware of was his kindness and devotion to friends and family. He will be missed by so many. My heart goes out to all of you who will miss him the most.

No words can ever express how deeply missed Dr.Orrison will be. He made an imprint on every live he ever came into contact with. He is the best person that I ever had the opportunity of knowing, and the most humble and forgiving. He was a once in a lifetime person to me. He treated me like a daughter, and for that I am forever grateful. The 18 years working with him have been one of the best times in my live. He will forever have a place in my heart and I will remember him always. I love you, Dr.Orrison!
Sincerely,
Martha Saucedo
