Obituary of Kelly S Drummonds

Kelly S. Drummonds, TSgt (Ret) - 58, of Henderson, NV, passed away peacefully in his loving wife Darlene's arms on September 8, 2017. Although Kelly was born in Michigan, he spent his childhood in Birmingham, Alabama, where many family members and friends lived. He had fond memories of the people and places there and visited several times over the past 50 years. He subsequently moved back to the Detroit area where he met his wife Darlene in 1976 at Royal Oak Kimball High School, and they celebrated 41 years together on June 24, 2017. Kelly enlisted in the United States Air Force and after graduating high school in 1977 he began his career as a jet engine mechanic and personnel specialist, honorably serving and ultimately retiring in 1994. He worked as a customer service representative until 2012 when he and Darlene fully retired and spent their time traveling, visiting family, and reconnecting with old friends. He was the loving husband of Darlene, proud father of Justin and Brenden, doting granddad to Liam, beloved brother of Joe and Jimmy and Nicki, uncle to many nieces and nephews with whom he was in close contact all of their lives, and a dear friend of the Air Force, veteran, biker, primary and high school, and neighborhood communities he was a part of. We all miss him dearly - gone too soon. As per his wish and befitting a proud member of the armed forces, Kelly will be buried at Arlington National Cemetery in Washington D.C., with full military honors at a date to be determined.
