Obituary of David Rick Van Thiel

Rick VanThiel tragically passed away on July 21st 2017 after a formidable 661 day fight for his freedom. Rick had a passion for health and clean eating. He was an avid nudist - so if you knew him, you had probably seen him naked. He enjoyed "real" country music and books, especially books that expanded his mind. He had a love for nature and the connection he felt to the earth. Another passion was classic cars, and his favorite was a 1969 Fastback Mustang. He was a very talented mechanic who spent much of his life working on cars. His skill spawned a true machinist, with the ability to quickly master any machine he touched - even inventing some of his own. He had an unquenchable thirst for knowledge. He valued it above all else, and continued his quest for knowledge and truth until the very end of his life. He constantly strove to pass his experience and wisdom to his children and grandchildren. He spent many of his final years sharing his knowledge with others, healing both bodies and souls. He is survived by his four daughters and 12 grandchildren. He is also survived by his Mother, who supported him unwaveringly throughout his life, and his Grandmother, as well as two sisters, an Aunt, and an Uncle. In addition, Rick leaves behind his many dear friends. He was preceded in death by his Grandfather, a man who was special to Rick throughout his life, and to whom Rick looked up to as Father. Rick was generous and exceptionally loyal. To know Rick was to feel his trust, and he was willing to forgive almost anything. His life impacted so many others. He will forever be missed, but never forgotten. The memorial will be held at Box Elder camp ground on Sept 17, 2017 at 4 PM For information on the memorial please email to 'RVTmemorial@gmail.com'
