Obituary of Kenneth Ward

LT COLONEL Kenneth Ward USAF RET 22 August 1930 – 28 February 2017 Col. Ward is a native of Osnabrock Cavalier, North Dakota. He completed his Bachelor’s Degree from North Dakota State University and successfully graduated from Air Force ROTC in 1952. He then entered pilot training and in January 1954 earned his Wings at Bryan Field. Col Ward’s military service spanned over 23 years with much of his service located at overseas bases. He served in Korea for several years and returned as a pilot instructor at Luke AFB. He also returned to NDSU where he served as an ROTC instructor. Col Ward was then assigned to duty in Vietnam where he performed numerous functions which included flying F-4 aircraft at Cam Rahn Bay. He also performed duty with the 7th Air Force HQ Saigon. Col Ward also performed duty in Europe before returning home where he took an assignment with the Air Staff TAC Division. Over the course of his career Col Ward flew the T-33, F-84D/E, K-47, F-101, and F-4. Upon his retirement on 1 February 1975, Mr. Ward owned and operated a small business with Amway Corp; he ran this business for over 40 years. Mr. Ward is also a well known veteran, having served as an Officer of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) for decades. He is survived by his wife Jan, and has two surviving sons, Kraig Allan and Kurtis. Services will be held on March 6, 2017 @ 11am at Desert Spring United Methodist Church on 120 N Pavilion Center Dr., Las Vegas, NV 89144.
