Obituary of Edwin Frank Fornek

January 17, 1926 – December 4, 2016 Edwin Frank Fornek was born in Chicago, IL, January 17, 1926 to the late John and Sophie Fornek. As a young man after experiencing the hardship of the Depression, Ed followed his older brothers into World War II and proudly served in the Pacific theater in the United States Navy and was a member of American Legion - Central Park Post #1028. Following the war, he experimented in a number of new businesses before he started KEZ Construction Company, which became his career. He was self-taught on the concertina and loved to play polkas and other Polish music at family gatherings. Although a series of strokes at age 50 slowed him down, he continued to surprise everyone with his zest for life and guidance. He loved softball and golf and for years after the strokes, golfed one handed. He traveled the world with his cherished wife of 66 years, Lillian, and left a legacy of many children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He never tired of telling a great story, figuring out a better way to do something, or outsmarting the Vegas blackjack dealers. EDWIN F.
