Obituary of Thilo Juschka

Thilo W. Juschka, age 54 passed away in Katie, Texas on Thursday, November 17, 2016. Thilo was born August 5, 1962 in Darmstadt, Germany to Hans and Ruth Juschka. He spent his childhood in Germany with his parents and his sister Sabine. He moved to the United States in 1980, and lived in Miami, Florida, where he finished high school. In Miami he lived with his friends: Andy Busch, Andre Rosinski; Arthur Biancone and Arthur's 2 brothers: Michael and Bim Biancone (all from Germany) until the summer of 1982. That's when Thilo embarked on his 1st construction gig and built a 40 foot, fully self-contained camper out of a 1967 Chevrolet school bus, completely from scratch. In this bus, at the young age of 20, along with his friends Andre, Michael and Arthur he traveled through 22 U.S. states spending some quality time in Adrian Michigan, Milford Indiana and Colorado Springs, Colorado, and finally settled down in Santa Barbara, California where he met his future wife Martha. Thilo played a major role in his 3 friends' lives because he was the one who chose Santa Barbara from a German AAA travel guide handbook as there California settlement destination; where Thilo's 2 traveling bus companions still live today with their wives and children. Thilo met his wife Martha in a bar (very classy meeting place), in Santa Barbara and in 1997, four years later they got married in Las Vegas, Nevada. In 1998 Thilo and Martha moved to Las Vegas to pursue careers in the casino industry. In January of 2000 they welcomed their first child Sophie, and in December of 2002, they welcomed their second daughter Lily. Thilo loved to watch T.V. in the company of his family and travel with his wife and children. He had an eclectic music taste, but some of his favorite music will be playing during the ceremony. Thilo loved history, particularly that of World War II. He revered himself as an engineer by trade, and assisted with the construction of the City Centerand Aria Hotel and Casino. Thilo also served as manager of the casino shops atthe Mirage, and Casino Manager of Aria Resorts in Las Vegas, Nevada and as the assistant director of the Houstonian Hotel in Katy, Texas. At the Houstonian he meet a very God loving, caring and compassionate couple Greg and Pam Branum, Greg and Pam along with family and friends became essential in Thilo's final days, by helping him understand and ultimately accept God's will. He is survived by his wife: Martha (Roman) Juschka; two daughters: Sophie Juschka and Lily Juschka; his mother Ruth Juschka, sister: Sabine (Ralph) Bock; close friends, Arthur Biancone, and his beloved English Bulldog Jack. Thilo was a very caring man, a loving father and husband, even if at times he did not show it. He had a very dry sense of humor and was known to playfully tease and joke with his daughters. He will be greatly missed and remembered by all his family and friends. A tree will be planted in his honor at a later date. A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, December 17, 2016 from 3:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at Kraft Sussman Funeral Services 3975 S. Durango Dr. Suite 104 Las Vegas, NV 89147.
