Obituary of Brigida S De Veyra

Brigida S de Veyra, age 81, of Las Vegas, passed away Monday, October 24, 2016. Brigida was born August 12, 1935 in the Philippines to the late Jose Rodriguez and the late Purificacion (Ripalda) Sanz. She worked as an insurance underwriter in the Philippines. After moving to the United States in 1984, she started her own import/export business. Brigida enjoyed sewing clothes. A strong woman, she could often be found lecturing those around her and was considered the family's "Commander in Chief." Brigida is survived by her husband of 60 years Rafael de Veyra; 5 children; 30 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren who live in the United States, Australia and the Philippines. Contributions in her memory may be made to the Servants of Christ Prayer Community, where Brigida was a long-time member and member of their choir. A visitation will take place at Kraft-Sussman Funeral and Cremation Services, 3975 S. Durango Drive, #104, Las Vegas, NV 89147 on Friday, October 28, from 2:00-6:00 PM.
