Obituary of Roslyn Levitt

Roslyn Levitt (mom-mom Roz), 97 years old, passed away on August 26, 2016, in Las Vegas, Nevada. She was born in Philadelphia on August 29, 1918, and in the year 2000 at the age of 80, came to Las Vegas to help raise her youngest grandchild, Remy. She is pre-deceased by her loving husband and dance partner, Abraham Levitt. Her parents were Bessie and Morris Vinitzky, who moved to Philadelphia from Russia in 1915. She had two siblings, Sol (Bernice) and Estelle who have since passed on many years ago. She was a loving, caring, devoted, and wonderful mother to Gail (Alan) Schlossberg of Las Vegas, and Sharon (Jay) Baronoff of Yardley, PA. She was greatly adored and loved by her grandchildren, Melissa Dorfman (Paul) of Yardley, PA, David Baronoff (Jennifer) of Encino, CA, and Remy Schlossberg of Las Vegas, NV. Her great grand children, Alina Dorfman, Samuel and Russell Baronoff affectionately called her GG. Her friends and family knew her as "The Dancing Queen". She loved music and loved to dance: Always. She resided at Destinations in the Pueblo for many years and developed some wonderful friendships. She loved living there. She has been a resident for over the past year at Aegis of Las Vegas where staff and volunteers loved her very much. As an active member of Temple Sinai, she had attended services regularly on Friday evenings and was their oldest member. Roslyn will be laid to rest next to her husband, "Al", in Philadelphia, PA, on Thursday, September 1, at the Roosevelt Memorial Park. Services will be held at Goldstein's Rosenberg's Raphael Sacks Suburban North, 310 2nd Street Pike, Southampton. There will be a celebration of Roslyn's life held at Gail and Alan Schlossberg's home, in lieu of Shiva, on September 11, 2016. The Celebration of Life Service will begin promptly at 12:30 pm. (gailschlossberg@gmail.com). To all who knew her and loved her, please join us to honor this most special woman who adored life, family, friends and dancing on September 11. Contributions in her memory and honor will be accepted by Temple Sinai for the Rabbi's Discretionary Fund. Mommy you will be missed forever. We love you.
