Obituary of Carlos Perez

Carlos Perez, 82, of Enterprise, Nevada passed away on June 10, 2016 in Las Vegas. Carlos Perez was born in Guantanamo-Oriente Cuba on June 9, 1934. He had a high school education. He worked as a Supply Clerk and then was promoted to a Heavy Equipment Operator and Truck Driver at the US Naval Air Base at Guantanamo Bay Cuba before leaving Cuba and taking his family to the United States in 1978. In the US Carlos continued to work as an 18-wheeler Truck Driver for United Van Lines for many years. Due to the physical nature of the job he moved on to work at McDonalds and retired from McDonalds as a Manager. Carlos enjoyed anything connected to Cuba; music, boxing, baseball and especially food. Carlos was an incredible cook and filled many empty stomachs with his Cuban dishes. Carlos had a passion and a love for women that was evident up until the day he passed. Carlos is survived by his twins Tammy and Carlos, his three children in Cuba, his grandchildren Isaiah, Miah, Daniel and Jacob and his brother Mel. He is preceded in death by his spouse Marta B. Perez. A service celebrating his life will be held at Nathaniel Jones Park Pavilion on Thursday, June 16 from 6-8pm with church ministry leader Tyrone Cooley of the Greater Las Vegas Church of Christ officiating.
