Obituary of Win Adler

Dr. Win (Irwin) Adler passed away in Las Vegas, NV on April 27, 2016 after a long illness. Dr. Win spent most of his life in New Jersey and New York. He attended Newark College of Engineering, now New Jersey Institute of Technology, earning a Bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering. He then attended New York University and earned his PhD while holding several teaching and research fellowships. He spent the majority of his working lifetime in the pharmaceutical, food and beverage industries. He developed many products that were successfully marketed, and authored numerous papers and patents. He was a Lion, and spent many Saturday's screening eyes with the Lions Club for people who otherwise would not have the opportunity to have their eyes examined. When he moved to Las Vegas, he continued this involvement with the Lions, obtaining equipment from manufacturers to properly equip two Lions Clubs. Because of his efforts, approximately 30,000 people received eye screenings, including young children, and many were saved from going blind. His beloved wife of 60 years, Judy, died on November 20, 2014, and his daughter Randi died nearly seven years ago. Surviving family includes his daughters Dr. Fran, Dori, grandchildren Adam, Robyn, Matty, Cooper, great grandson Jackson and sons-in law Marty Berkowitz and Alan Zingmond. He will be dearly missed. A service was held on April 28. Contributions in Dr. Win's memory may be made to Las Vegas Host Lions Club, http://lasvegashostlions.lionwap.org/.
