Dear Jeanne, Manny, Naomi and Deb,
My heart is broken to hear the news that your Dad has passed, and I'm sending along my deepest sympathies and love. Lou was such a good and loving man, so devoted to all of you, and so welcoming to all of us who became part of the Arin family. Quick with a smile and a laugh and a hug, as smart as the day is long, so caring and loving -- a real mensch. He was a man like my own father, someone to look to when you needed to know how to handle the hard questions, who would give you the kind of guidance that you knew was coming from a place of compassion and honor. I'm so sorry he's gone. I'll keep all of you in my thoughts and prayers.
Mike.

Dear Jeanne, Manny, Naomi and Debbie,
We’ve known the Arin family for about 50 years. During that time we’ve come to know Lou as a wonderful husband to you, Jeanne, and a fine father to you Manny, Naomi and Debora. To us he was dear friend and a great companion. These are the qualities that describe a Mensch and Lou possessed them all. He was also deeply committed to helping others, through Tikkun Olam (healing the world), his leadership roles in Jewish activities, his efforts on behalf of the Jewish People, and his work with the Democratic Party.
We are so fortunate to have seen Lou and Jeanne and the family during our visit to your home in January and again during your visit to our home in June. It was always a pleasure to talk with Lou about many of his interests and ours too. He had profound thoughts and insights on so many matters.
He was a great travelling companion, bringing us to The Valley of Fire and to Red Rock Canyon near Vegas. We remember the wonderful times we shared at Mrs. Gardner’s place in Wellfleet on Cape Cod. Lou put his Boy Scout skills to good use in improvising a means of cooking the freshly caught blue fish. We will never forget the wonderful Seders at your home in Lexington, Lou wearing his Kittel, and the many gatherings we had at the Chavurah to which we belonged.
We will miss Lou’s great smile, his cheery laugh and his wonderful friendship. Lou will live on in our memories of the times we shared and the fun we had over all the years. Our hearts are filled with grief at his passing. We extend our condolences to you all and to the entire mishpachah. We love you all.
