Philip Eisler

Obituary of Philip Eisler

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Philip Eisler, 81, of Las Vegas, Nevada on October 14, 2015. We remember Phil's life's events – his birth in Newark, New Jersey in 1934 where he lived for 32 years, his residency in south Florida from 1966 to 2002, and his retirement in Las Vegas where he lived for 13 years. We fondly recall his marriage on March 30 1957 to Roz Barschi; the birth of his 4 children, Andrew, Shawn, Daniel, and Elyse; the birth of his 5 grandchildren, Elizabeth, Ethan, Mathew, Mariah and Michael Eisler. Phil loved the outdoors, the mountains, the beaches, going on long walks, camping out, and going on ocean cruises. Phil lived and worked as a lifeguard on the Jersey Shore in his younger days; he loved the Miami Beach beaches, visited many Hawaiian beaches as well as the California coast and its beaches. He loved to drive on mountain roads and would take a road trip at the drop of a hat. Most of all, Phil loved the northern California Redwoods. Most certainly his soul will live among them for eternity along with his beloved daughter Shawn (deceased). Phil is survived by his children and grandchildren, Gilbert (brother) and Joyce Eisler, nephews Michael and Scott Eisler, sister-in-law, Phylis Eisler, niece Stacey (Eisler) Danzinger and husband Richard Danzinger of New Jersey, and nephew Eric Eisler and family of Maryland. A celebration of Phil's life was held in his home on October 17, 2015 and was attended by family and his many wonderful and dear friends. Phil was one of humanity's rare individuals who truly lived, loved, laughed, and learned. In his own words, he "did it his way." Phil taught his adult children the concept of hard work and to live by the motto of "this is not a dress rehearsal, just do it!" Phil will be forever loved and cherished by all who were lucky enough to have known him.
