Obituary of Marilyn Morris

Marilyn Morris passed away on February 3, 2010 at the age of 85. She resided at Las Ventanas Community since her move from Florida to Las Vegas in early 2007. She was lovingly cared for by the entire staff. She loved them and appreciated their efforts. Marilyn was born in Kenosha, Wisconsin. She was active in theatre and music, putting on a one-woman show of Funny Girl to raise money for her temple and other organizations. Marilyn met her husband, Sam, a WWII veteran, in Wisconsin. They married in 1947 and settled in Racine, Wisconsin. Marilyn and Sam were well-loved by their Racine community, owning and working daily in their grocery store, catering to the ethnic families in their neighborhood. Marilyn was President of Hadassah and Bnai Brith in Racine. In summer, she organized fund raisers for the Racine Zoo and was Master of Ceremonies of a two day event of non-stop entertainment. Marilyn's beloved husband, Sam, passed away in 1987. She is survived by her daughter, Eve Morris and Eve's life companion of 38 years, Cheryl Brunner; her son Alan and his wife Pia and their daughters, Jordan and Sofia; and her sister Rosalie Altshul. Marilyn was predeceased by brothers Irving and Harry. Marilyn liked traveling with her husband, Sam, and Eve and Cheryl. She enjoyed vintage movies and playing bingo, pokeno and rummicube with her new friends and extended family at Las Ventanas. We will miss mother. She brought joy to those she met.
