Obituary of Albert Oscar Corwin

Albert Oscar Corwin, age 92, of Las Vegas, Nevada & Seal Beach, California, passed away Sunday, August 4, 2013. Albert was born April 24, 1921 in Brooklyn NY to the late Julius and the late Yetta (Abrams) Cohen. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II as an aerial photographer, became a professional photographer in Denver, Colorado and then moved to Seal Beach, California where he enjoyed many dinner and social evenings with his close friends, Jerry & Gail Neville. Albert found his passion as a Union carpenter and then as a concrete special inspector for the City and County of Los Angeles where he was certified as a reinforced and prestressed concrete special inspector. He was also an in the field and on the job resource for Jerry's special inspection seminars. Albert is survived by two sons; S Andrew Corwin of Las Vegas, NV and Daniel J Corwin of Breckenridge, CO. He is predeceased by his Wife, Mary Elizabeth Corwin of whom he was dedicated and home caregiver while she was bedridden with throat cancer for 16 years. Albert's passion was concrete inspection but also in search of, excited by and supported the most advanced of medicine and its ability to heal. Donations in Albert's memory are suggested to the "Salk Institute for Biological Studies" or any similar and viable group that supports the ongoing research and development of cures, new medicine and techniques to heal the sick and prolong the physical and quality of life as human beings on Planet Earth. The burial will take place at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Cypress CA on Wednesday, August 7 at 2:00 pm.
