Obituary of Michael Mitzmacher

Michael Mitzmacher, age 70, of Las Vegas, passed away Saturday, July 27, 2013. Michael was born August 10, 1942 in Newark NJ to the late Morris and the late Esther (Markowitz) Mitzmacher. Michael served in the US Army. He had a career as an agent with the Internal Revenue Service and after retirement, worked as an enrolled agent with H&R Block. He served as chapter president and regional secretary of the National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association. Michael was also a member of the Knights of Pythias and Temple Beth Sholom. He enjoyed his work, as well as politics, sports, poker, bowling and reading. Michael is survived by his wife of 44 years, Merle Mitzmacher; son Jonathan (Jaimee) Mitzmacher of Jacksonville FL; grandchildren Eliana and Maytal Mitzmacher of Jacksonville; and sister Donna M Caridad of Oviedo FL. The funeral service will be held at 1:30 pm on Monday, July 29, 2013 at Temple Beth Sholom, 10700 Havenwood Lane, Las Vegas, NV 89135. Burial will immediately follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, 1500 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Contributions in Michael's memory may be made to the Jewish National Fund, www.jnf.org.
