Obituary of Gerald Sherwin Alter

Gerald Sherwin Alter, age 79, of Las Vegas, passed away Monday, May 20, 2013. Jerry was born January 6, 1934 in Brooklyn NY to late Morris and the late Rose (Schneidman) Alter. Jerry served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. He began his career as a salesman in the home furnishing business, working his way up to sales manager before retiring in 1992. Jerry moved to Las Vegas in 2008; enjoying bowling and spending time with his children and grandchildren. Jerry is survived by his children Suzanne (Lionel) Handler of Las Vegas, Michael (Tracy) Alter of Chesterfield MO and David Alter of St. Louis MO; and grandchildren Stephen, Jake, Justin, Jamie, Aaron and Jordan. A private service will be held on May 22, 2013 at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City NV. Contributions in Jerry's memory may be made to the donor's favorite cancer organization.
