Obituary of Ernesto Cadabes

Ernesto Cadabes, age 88, a 20 year resident of Las Vegas, passed away Saturday, April 27, 2013. Ernesto was born January 7, 1925 in Carigara Leyte Philippines to the late Bernardo and the late Andrea (Gunabe) Cadabes. Ernesto initially had a 5th grade education, enlisted in the US Navy in 1945 during World War II, then served until 1967, through the Korean Conflict and Vietnam War, all the while stationed at Naval Station Pearl Harbor in Hawaii. Showing his children that education was important, even for people who had nothing, he earned his GED then went on to earn an Associate's Degree. After retiring from the Navy, he worked for 25 years for the US Postal Service. Ernesto is survived by his children Gwendolyn Dye and her husband Jack and their children; Trey and his wife Rogelie and their children; Kaipo and his wife Selena and their children; Beau and his wife Nikki and their children; and Andrea and her husband Dorian and their children; Ernie Jr. and his wife Marcia and his daughter, Amy Moore and her husband Jacob and their children; Ruben and his wife Susan and their sons, RJ, and Justin and his wife Maricel and their son; Enrique and his wife Gigi and their son, Jaime; son-in-law Daniel Pacleb and his children Lesle Hilliker and her husband Stephen and their son; Brandon Machado and his wife Natasha and their son; Jesseca Machado; Siera-Shea Phillips and her husband Shawn, Rachell, and Zachary; Chris Correia and her husband Robert and their daughters; Cortne and her children; and Cydne; Cesar Cadabes and his husband Hoa Su and their pups Chico, Pepe and Ann; Angela Alpiche and her husband Jonathan and their children, Sean Raquepo, Jessica Grant and her husband David and their son; and Darryl and his daughter. He is survived by siblings Amelia, Andrea, Judith, Linda, Oscar and Philipe. Ernesto is preceded in death by his wife Lucia Cadabes, his daughter Carmen Pacleb, and his great granddaughter Robin Dye. The funeral will be held 4:00 pm on Friday, May 10, 2013 at Kraft-Sussman Funeral Services, 3975 S. Durango Drive, Suite 104, Las Vegas, NV. A visitation will be prior to the service on Friday, May 10 from 2:00-4:00 PM at Kraft-Sussman Funeral Services. Interment will take place at 11:30 AM on Friday, June 28, 2013 at the National Cemetery of the Pacific at Punchbowl, HI.
