Obituary of Allen Gersh

Allen "Al" Gersh, 75, Resident of N. Las Vegas passed away on the 16th of December due to complications from a stroke. He was born on October 6th, 1934 to Bessie and Harry Gersh in Detroit, Michigan. He had 6 siblings, all of whom are together with him now in Heaven; Sarah, Max, Kay, Fay, Dave and Louie. Al is survived by his adoring wife, Sandy, of 48 years and together shared a wonderful life full of happiness, humor and love. He's also survived by his two sons, Howard (Julie) of Novato, CA, and Andy (Sharyn) of Burbank, CA. He adored his Grandchildren, Noah, Zack & Evan and Owen & Leo. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and countless friends filled out his life. Al, an Army veteran, began his career as a draftsman, an insurance salesman and owning a graphic design shop, then shifted towards a career as a printer until his retirement. He was an avid stamp collector who enjoyed travel, movies and socializing with his vast array of friends. He was always quick with a joke and loved bringing happiness to others. He was a warm, caring, honest man with a sparkling reputation. His funeral will be held at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Buchanan Blvd., in Boulder City on Monday, December 21, 2009 at 9:20 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations to the charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated. The family will be sitting shiva at the Gersh's home from Monday through Wednesday, 1-9 PM.
