Obituary of Helen Sherman

Helen Sherman, age 94, a 13 year resident of Henderson, passed away Monday, April 22, 2013. Helen was born July 27, 1918 in Chicago IL to the late Aaron and the late Rose (Snyder) Shapiro. Helen worked as a payroll clerk. She loved to dance, play mah jongg with her friends and was an avid reader. Mostly she was crazy about her children, grandchildren and great granddaughter. Helen was the type of person who found the best quality in everyone she met. After moving to Henderson from Chicago in 2000, she made immediately made great friends. Helen is survived by her daughters Elaine (Frank) Mannarino of Henderson NV and Carole (Marv) Rossof of Tucson AZ; grandchildren Todd Abrams of Los Angeles, Keith Abrams of Napa Valley CA and Jenifer Lazcano of St. Charles IL; and great granddaughter Faith Granados of St. Charles. She is predeceased by her husband Theodore Sherman and her sisters, Celia Davidson and Betty Sugar, who were very close. The graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, April 25, 2013 at Bunkers Memory Gardens Cemetery, 7251 W. Lone Mountain Road, Las Vegas, NV.
