Obituary of Kenneth Shirley

Kenneth Shirley was born on July 25, 1931 in Shawnee, OK and took his final ride in Death Valley, March 27, 2013. A better ending could not have been written. He loved Death Valley. He loved full moons. Ken worked 37 yrs for the Bell System, as a technician, United Way Chairman & CWA President. His passion was racing and was extremely proud of his induction into the Kearney Bowl Hall of Fame. He was also part of the World Champion Auto Dare Devils. He loved every minute on his motorcycle and had recently converted his Gold Wing to a trike. Besides the monthly trips to Death Valley, he & Dorothy enjoyed many trips across the US & Canada. Ken is preceded in death by his wife of fifty years, Dorothy. He is survived by his sister Neketa, daughter Sabrina; husband Lonnie, their children Whitney, Jill & Renee. Son Carlton; wife Colette, children Erin & Alicia. Daughter Lori, husband Matt & son Ryan. Son Kenneth Jr. & wife Gia. Six great grandchildren. We will miss his fun, loving, generous spirit. A Celebration of Life is planned for 3:00 PM on Sunday, April 7th, at the Clovis Memorial Bldg. Remembrances are requested to the United Way.
