Obituary of Alisa Dawn Goldstein

Alisa Dawn Goldstein, age 42, of Las Vegas, passed away Saturday, March 23, 2013. Alisa was born April 6, 1970 in Sunrise Hospital to the late Morton Goldstein and Dolores (Jaffe) Goldstein. Alisa was struck by a car in 1975, an incident which would change the course of her life. In a coma for 25 days, her survival was a miracle and she was deemed, "The Miracle of Sunrise Hospital" by Mr. Nate Adelson. Alisa loved life and her attitude was infectious. She loved art, music, and dance. She was spiritual, she loved God, and she was very, very, funny. Alisa struggled with physical challenges and a brain injury which significantly impacted her short term memory. Yet, she refused to let these challenges hold her back. If she forgot your name she simply gave you a new one. She became an amazing artist and was honored for her work by the Nevada Special Olympics at a gala affair. She was an amazing piano player who never took a lesson. She could hear a song one time and play it back perfectly. She loved everybody. Alisa is survived by her mother Dolores Goldstein of Las Vegas; sister Laurie (Tracy) Krauthamer of Lake Oswego, OR; step-mother Janet Goldstein; nephews Jordan, Jared, & Josiah Krauthamer or Lake Oswego; uncle Hal Goldstein of Northridge CA; and uncle Ronnie (Louise) Jaffe of Hilo HI. She is predeceased by her father Mort Goldstein and her grandparents Mike and Sylvia Jaffe and Jack and Gusta Goldstein and uncle Eddie Jaffe. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at Palm Cemetery, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., Las Vegas, NV. Contributions in Alisa's memory may be made to Nathan Adelson Hospice or Lupus of Nevada. .
