Obituary of Kenneth Elgart

Kenneth Elgart died quietly on 2/28/13. He was born in Brooklyn, New York on July 16, 1944. He is survived by his wife Dotti who was his high school sweetheart from Lafayette High School in Brooklyn, NY and the love of his life. They were married 40 years and had recently renewed their vows on Valentine's Day on their Hawaiian cruise. Ken graduated from New York University with a Bachelor of Science degree and from the University of Arizona with a Masters of Science Degree. He was also a two-sport athlete at ASU. He was vice president of the industrial tool department for Emerson tools prior to his retirement. Ken's humor and laughter spread to all who met him. He was an active member of P'nai Tikvah Congregation of Las Vegas. He enjoyed leading prayer services, teaching Hebrew and meeting new friends. He enjoyed his life as an avid reader, golfer, fisherman and skeet shooter. Ken was gregarious to his final day. He loved traveling with Dotti. He loved visiting his family and friends from all over the country. A stranger to Ken was a friend he hadn't met. Wherever he went, he loved to teach and share his vast knowledge whether it was religion, travel, cooking, or even coffee. Ken leaves behind his wife, Dotti, two sons, Charles and Scott, and his daughter Debra, and three wonderful grandchildren, Matthew, Madilyn and Chloe. He is also survived by his brother Myron and sister Susan, nieces Jenny, Amy, Jodi, Gabrielle, Sarah and his nephew David. A graveside service will be held at 2:30 pm on Sunday, March 3, 2013 at Bunkers Memory Gardens Cemetery, 7251 W. Lone Mountain Road, Las Vegas, NV. The family will sit shiva at their home through Tuesday.
