Obituary of Carl A Gerstenmaier
Carl A Gerstenmaier, age 77, of Las Vegas, died Saturday, December 15, 2012. Carl was born September 1, 1935 in Danbury, Connecticut to the late Albert and the late Grace (Darling) Gerstenmaier Dimock.
In his twenties, Carl served in the Air Force for two years. While living in New Milford CT he worked as a machine operator, and then founded and operated the Gerstenmaier Tree Company in Gaylordsville. He later moved to Las Vegas and returned to his passion of flying. As a pilot for Air Vegas he conducted aerial tours of the Grand Canyon until retirement. Carl accomplished a brown belt in karate, and his hobbies included pistol shooting, hiking, and flying gliders. He also had a great love of beer.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years Patti (Thomas) Gerstenmaier, and two daughters; Amy (Harold) Gantert of New Milford, CT and Beth Cornelius and grandson Joseph Cornelius, both of Los Osos CA, and his two beloved dogs Sassy and Duffy.
