Obituary of Jerry Mendell

Jerry Mendell, age 77, a 15 year resident of Las Vegas, passed away Tuesday, October 30, 2012. Jerry was born August 1, 1935 in St. Joseph MO to the late Max Louis and the late Freida (Stone) Mendell. He worked as a manager of a trucking company. Jerry enjoyed his family as well as his regular poker games with his friends. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Marilyn Mendell; daughters Cynthia Mendell (Romeo Lanuza) of Chicago, Julie Howald (Tim) of Las Vegas and Robin Mendell (Frank Fatino) of Kansas City MO; grandchildren Claire Lanuza of Chicago and Max and Michael Howald of Las Vegas; and sister Joyce Kalander of Leawood KS. A memorial service will be held 11:00 am on Wednesday, October 31, 2012 at Kraft-Sussman Funeral Services, 3975 S. Durango Drive, Suite 104, Las Vegas, NV. Shiva observance will be at the Mendell home after the service with a 7:30 minyan. Contributions in Jerry's memory may be made to Hadassah or Temple Bet Knesset Bamidbar.
