Obituary of Geraldine Porfilio

A beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister, Geraldine “Gerri” Pillitteri Locastro Porfilio passed away peacefully on June 6th at the age of 91. Gerri grew up in Erie, Pennsylvania, in a large Italian family. She was one of 11 siblings—the baby of the family. She enjoyed bowling and going to the racetrack when she was young. She left Erie and moved to the west coast, living in California before finally settling in Las Vegas. She helped raise and take care of her granddaughters, Kathryn and Amanda. She loved to sing in the car, and listened to everything from Frank Sinatra’s “My Way” to La Bouche’s “Be My Lover.” Gerri loved her job giving samples at Costco, where she worked for over 12 years. She is remembered for her love of storytelling, playing cards with her family and friends, cooking, and for her pearls of wisdom. She was often heard saying, “It’s easier to clean a clean home.” She had a strong spirit and was always a hard worker. She often said, “Be good to others, and they’ll be good to you.” She was always good to those around her, and will be greatly missed by her friends and family. Gerri is survived by her four children, Jeff (and wife Barb), Ann, Sam, and Greg (and wife Natalie); her grandchildren Elizabeth, Suzanne, Samuel, Dominic, Kathryn (and dad Ben), and Amanda (and dad Mike); and her great grandson Davis.
