I've hardly seen anyone like George, such a cheerful, enthusiastic person. You showed us generous hospitality during our vacation in US in 2019. Shared the best things you knew, gorgeous casinos and dazzling shopping malls. Oddly-shaped boulders and spectacular Hoover Dam. In order to give us a more fulfilling life, experienced more novel and interesting activities, you even went to great lengths to drive us to California. No matter how much time and effort it took to plan.
Although my clumsy English might sometimes made communication difficult, you were always willing to listen attentively and patiently when I shared. And taught me more words after giving me your thought and compliments. Even if my stubborn temper sometimes made the atmosphere unpleasant , never did you lash out into strong language.
The most unforgettable moment, the last time I saw you, It was before boarding. The sincerity and passion in those words
It seemed that you were already looking forward to my next visit. “Nini, welcome to come back next year." You said cheerfully. It is so sorry that I can't visit you anymore. The picture of you smiling lightly and waving to us is still vivid to me.
And it will remain in my memory forever.
Thank you for giving me such a joyful summer. I will miss you so much. I hope you can live a carefree life in heaven. Love you, George.

At some time during my educational journey, I came across a story that originated with Benjamin Franklin, about a person known in three different ways, "The Three John's." First, there was the John that God knew, then there was the John that John knew, lastly there was the John that everyone else knew, and all of those folks knew him in a different way.
This then is the George I knew: The first time I met George it was his smile that impressed me! But, I also noticed the little gleam in his eye which told me there was a little boy behind that smile. (and he is probably Irish ). I think there was part of George that never grew up. He traveled extensively and loved adventure. I don't think he was an adrenaline junkie, but he loved to do things like bungee jump, and skydive for god sake!!
George and I shared an interest in history, Politics, and related biographies. A short conversation with George would alert anyone that he was smart, articulate, and had worked hard to accomplishe a stellar career. George had a very eclectic
scope of interest and it was one of those unique things that brought George and I together.
A number of years ago, I was standing in line at a Starbucks with a colleague of mine from U.N.L.V. When a lady in Front of us turned around And bravely confronted us about the rodeo that was being held at the Thomas and Mack on our campus. The first words out of her mouth were, "my husband would love to go to the rodeo but we can't find tickets". I found some tickets, and the rest is history. George and Jane became my good friends.
One last thought;
I came across this Quote not too long ago. "when you speak of me after I'm gone, and you will. Please be kind, I did the best I could with what I had at the time, I had it in the world I was living in." George, yours was a life well played, well played!

So sorry to hear of George’s sudden passing. I remember him fondly coming to Jennifer’s for family holidays & get togethers. Enjoyed talking with him about all his travel experiences. He was an impeccably dressed man; certainly didn’t look his age. He and his wife were always a joy to be around. He will be missed immensely.

Your friendly smile will be missed. You were always Jane’s #1 fan as you watched her play tennis. You had a great zest for your life that was well lived and full of many wonderful accomplishments.
May you RIP with the angels
