Billie Sakkab

Obituary of Billie Jerry Sakkab

It is with profound sadness and much love that the family of Billie J. Sakkab (Grady) announce her sudden passing on February 13, 2022, at the age of 74.

Billie was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, to John and Ruby Grady. She moved at a young age to Fort Worth, Texas, where she lived for most of her childhood years.

While attending Texas Christian University, Billie met the love of her life and best friend, Nabil Sakkab, who was in town at the time visiting friends. They would marry in 1971 in Chicago, Illinois. Over the last 50 years, they enjoyed living together in many different states and countries, most recently residing in Las Vegas since 2007.

A deeply devoted wife and mother, Billie raised two children, Bill, and Stephanie. She was always there for them and taught them to enjoy every moment that life has to offer. Billie felt extremely blessed to have 3 grandchildren with whom she wanted to spend as much time as possible. She was the person that everyone in her family came to for help and support. Billie always was guided by the highest moral code.

No one who met Billie forgot her warm smile, quick wit, mischievous humor, and generosity. She had a passion for travel and music, and she was a very talented artist, designer and master cook. Together with her husband, Billie traveled to over 60 countries enjoying new adventures, experiencing new cultures, appreciating the art and architecture while always making new friends.

Billie will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Nabil; her two children, Bill Sakkab (Joy Kim) and Stephanie Colvin (David Colvin); her 3 grandchildren, Chloe Sakkab, Andy Colvin, and Aiden Colvin; and her brother and many other family members and friends. Billie is preceded in death by her parents, her stepfather, Andy Anderson, and other family members.

Visitation will be at Kraft & Sussman in Las Vegas, Nevada, from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. on February 21, 2022, with a memorial service following there at 3:30 p.m.
