Obituary of Murray Irving Kofkin
Dr. Murray I. Kofkin passed away on Friday, November 26 in Las Vegas, in the loving presence of his three daughters and all five grandchildren. Born August 23, 1927 and raised in Brooklyn, Murray received his MD degree from SUNY Downstate, completed his residency in psychiatry, and served as attending psychiatrist and clinical professor at The Mount Sinai School of Medicine. A lover of classical music, Murray played the viola and loved being part of a string quartet, especially when concerts were followed by Chinese food. Murray embraced travel, cooking, and deep conversations. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Jupiter Symphony Chamber Players in NY https://www.jupitersymphony.com/ and the Foundation to Assist Young Musicians (FAYM) https://www.thefaym.org/.
