James Aaron

Obituary of James Victor Aaron

We lost a creative soul on Tuesday, November 23, 2021. Jim Aaron was a haiku poet, writer of songs and prose, as well as a world-class guitarist. Writing under the nom de plume Jimmy the Peach, his work was enjoyed across the world. He appreciated nature and beauty in all forms. His sense of humor was legendary.

Jim was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Married to Patti for 32 years, he was stepfather to Cameron Cheal (Christine) and grandfather to Elliott and Griffin. He cherished his family and loved his grandsons with all his heart.

A member of 12-step programs, Jim was clean and sober for 36 years, beginning that journey in the Petaluma and Santa Rosa fellowships.

A former resident of Sonoma County, he currently resided in Henderson, NV. He developed a severe infection of unknown origin and passed after three weeks in the hospital. He was 67 years old.

Born in Bakersfield, CA, to Al and Ellie Aaron, Jim was the second of six children. He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters Mary and Amy. He is survived by siblings Jeff Aaron (Rosalyn), John Aaron (Rose), and Anne Johnson (Ken), and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A combination virtual/in-person Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, December 11, at 11:00 a.m. PST. For the Zoom link/physical location, please email Patti at JimMemorial2021@gmail.com. The in-person reception will be in Henderson, NV.

Jim was an avid supporter of suicide prevention awareness. The family requests if donations are made in his name, they be made to Save a Life Today at www.saltkc.com, or the National Alliance on Mental Illness at www.nami.org.
