Obituary of Jyoti Chawla
On Father’s Day June 20, 2021 Jyoti Chawla suffered from a massive stroke which left her unconscious in the ICU for 2 weeks. The area of the brain effected by her stroke controls balance, coordination, and most importantly our ability to breathe.
She fought hard to recover and lived up to her motto in life: “always do your best and never give up.” Jyoti was a fighter: Petite in size, but the strongest woman.
For 4 months the family endured a roller coaster of emotions: hope, anxiety, sadness, and lots of LOVE. Unfortunately, she suffered another stroke on September 30th in the same area of the brain, but this time with hemorrhage.
Devestatingly, she passed away on October 7, 2021.
What will be missed about Jyoti - well everything. From her love, to her ability to laugh at my jokes even when they weren’t funny, to her mental acuity, an obsession with Sudoku, to the way she did anything for the people she cared about as well as random strangers.
Nothing in life lasts forever except change. Life is a constant dance between loving passionately with each inhale and letting go gracefully with each exhale.
In lieu of flowers, we are asking all our friends and family to make a donation to the American Stroke Foundation in loving memory of Jyoti Chawla.
