Obituary of Laura Vaca Lanzkowsky

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Laura Vaca Lanzkowsky on October 1st, 2021 at the age of 60. She passed away at home surrounded by her children following a years-long battle with cancer. She was predeceased by her mother, Livia Cecilia Herrera de Alba and her father J. Jesus Vaca VillaseƱor, who both passed earlier this year.

Born and raised in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico, she was a Las Vegas resident for over 25 years and graduated from UNLV in 1999. She built her career as an accountant. Her favorite day was Friday and worked at her most recent place of employment for over 10 years. She had her own dreams of one day starting and pursuing her own business ventures after retirement.

She was a spiritual woman with pride in her culture and left many photos showing her early passions, which included her love for beers on the beach, her pets, and spending time with her children and family. She had many plans for retirement, some of which included beers on the beach, a new pet and spending time with her children and family.

Laura is remembered by those who knew her as a beautiful, dignified, loyal and fiercely loving mother, sister and friend. She is survived by her daughter (Jessica) who inherited her dimpled smile and her deep empathy for others; and her son (Brandon) who is her living image and carries with him her steadfast moral compass. She also leaves behind her sisters, Cecilia and Claudia, her brother Jesus, and countless friends and extended family both in the United States and abroad.

A mother's love is something that

No one can  explain,

it is made of deep devotion and of

 sacrifice and pain,

it is endless and unselfish and

enduring come what may

For nothing can destroy it or

take that love away
