Sincere thanks to our daughter's friends and co-workers,
To each one of you dear and caring people, please accept my personal gratitude and appreciation for your sweet sentiments, kind words, and your heartfelt generosity, during this sad time of our loss. 'Thank you' is not enough to express how touching your individual thoughts, gestures, and acts of kindness, has been so meaningful and comforting to myself and to my family. May God bless you all for everything, and grant you peace.
With sincere appreciation,
Sharilyn Harris (Tami's mom)

Remembering the man in our life. ~~ A handful of roses from our yard, planted, nurtured and selected by 'Papa!' One rose represents the man that we recognize as our very own, on Father's Day, and on any day! He's the man who has been there for all of us, from the beginning of his role in our lives! He has been there every time, all the time, and many times! He is the man we refer to as 'Babe', 'Honey', 'Papa-San', James, 'Dad', 'Papa', 'Papa Bob', and 'Boss!' The second rose represents myself; Papa's wife and soul mate of 41 years. The third and fourth rose represents our two daughters, and the smallest rose in the center represents our four dearly loved grandchildren. We thank you Papa for caring for all of us, and being there through thick and thin, sunshine and rain, the happy times and sad times, the sane times, and the crazy times, and all of the times that you were right there by our side! We're sure that many times, you have probably scratched your head, and wondered 'How did I get into this?' We love you dearly, for all you have endured through the years, for the effort you have made, to do what you felt you should do as a man, for the time you have spent, for the responsibility you've stood up to, and for the love you have given us freely, without second thought! We are sincerely grateful for you, and hope that your heart can feel our appreciation and love for all you are to each of us.

Dearest Shari. I am so sorry for your loss. You and Bob were always that special happy and kind couple. I remember him giving me tips on raising gold fish and the black Molly’s. Thank you so much Nani for your kind words and sweet memories. Bob and I had a handful of special people that crossed our lives and gave us a good feeling, and of course Nani, one of those people were you. To come to your home was always warm and welcoming, and what a joy it was to be around you and your family.
Love you Nani!

On 8/2/21, a telephone message of condolence was left from 'Niko', one of Bob's Certified Nurse Assistants, who participated and assisted regularly in Bob's home care. His heartfelt and appreciated message is as follows:
"Mrs. Harris, Good afternoon, this is Niko. I've been meaning to call you, but I was out all week. I've been meaning to drop by when I am in your neighborhood. I know I also miss Mr. Harris. Yes, Mrs. Harris, I am really sorry, but thank you for taking good care of Mr. Harris. We had a good time. I loved that guy. I know he is peaceful now. He's up there with the Lord, and he is smiling at you. Don't worry Mrs. Harris, okay? You take care of yourself. I am going to call you back again, alright? You take care mam. Good-bye."

I was in touch with Niko, to let him know how much his call meant to me, and how kind he was to speak such words of sincerity and positivity. "He's up there with the Lord, and he is smiling at you." ~ That's all I needed to hear.
Thank you Niko ~ Mrs. Harris

Although you are so very far away from me my love; I carry love for you within my heart on this your special day, as I do anyway, on any given day. You are so missed by me and all the ones who love you so very much. We don't have you to hold today, to kiss, to hug, to hand to you a special gift, and offer you our sentiments of love and happiness. The girls will be here chatting, while Malu runs to fetch her toys, and the grandkids will be moping because their Papa isn't here to fill their hearts with joy. Oh my dear, you are so missed! I will make a special dish for everyone to eat, and make sure there is a cake, so we can celebrate the years that we were oh so blessed to have you for ourselves. 78 years young, you would have been today! But God stepped in and softly said 'No way!' Because today, He wanted you with him, to show to you the grandest celebration you have ever seen! For you have been reborn! For you have been redeemed! ~ Happy Heavenly Rebirth with all of our love!
Your wife, and your family

Hello Sherri, Tami ,and most beloved family, I’m so heartbroken for the lost of a truly devoted husband, father, family man and most of all God-fearing and who loved the Lord Jesus and a dear friend to me and my family. The Bible says “ absent from the body is present with the Lord “ Rest assured Saints, Bob is speaking right now with Jesus, telling Jesus how much he loves and misses being with you all and that making sure Jesus doesn’t forget about bringing each one of you to heaven too. Bob is mentioning each of you by name to the Father. Knowing this, we’re guaranteed to be United once again with our beloved Bob. Until we meet again, brother. Larry and family

Dear Larry, I thank you for your heartfelt condolences and beautiful comments and memories about my husband, Bob. We all go back a long way, and have happy and fond memories of our times together. Life is short, but its how you lived it that counts. As we miss our departed, we pray that they all come together under the Holy Father, and be blessed with assurance of a better and more happier life above us. God bless you and your family always. With my deepest love and sympathy I send my condolences to my Aunt Sheryl, my Cousin's Kimisha and Tami and all my second cousins. Uncle Bob made me feel very welcomed to be back with my family after missing so many years, even more so when he made me his special peach clobber for me and brought it the family when they traveled to Los Angeles one year and stopped by to visit. It was so very appreciated and delicious. He will definitely be misses. May his soul rest in peace and his spirit surround his family with the love he's always given. Lord give my Aunt and cousins the strength to get through this difficult time. Love you all....Nese

My beloved niece, you have traveled this road before, and know the feeling of loss and heartache of a loved one. I guess all we can do is make sure to prepare ourselves down here on earth, so we can all meet again with our loved ones and friends in high places. Bob often asked about you, the boys and Mark, and would recall and talk about our visit to your house, when he made that peach cobbler for you. Thank you for your sentiments and fond memories ~ Love, Auntie

Distraught and heartbroken, and trying to come to the realization of life without him. My husband was my best friend, my sweetheart, my protector, my earthly provider; forever in my heart and thoughts. I'll be forever grateful that he chose me as his other half. His spirit is all around me daily, prompting sweet memories of our life together, in harmony and agreement every step of the way.

Bob would often ask about 'Malu', our family dog, who would keep him company, either by laying at the foot of his bed, laying under his bed, or sitting on the windowsill looking out the window. "Where's the little doggie?" ~ Bob would say.

Note: The number 'nine' is biblically identified as the number of ‘finality’; as Christ died in the ninth hour; ‘Papa Bob’ died at 9:22 a.m., within the ninth hour, on July 10, 2021. “God's Sweet Serenade” was written by James’ wife, Sharilyn, on July 10, 2012, nine years ago.
God's Sweet Serenade . . .
When evening comes, I'll close my eyes and dream of God's
Sweet serenade of life; the plans He has for me . . .
Well within my reach, well within my sight.
I'll look above the mountains and far across the sea.
His peace I'll find within me, as I rise above my downfalls,
And journey forward to a place where I will find my calling.
In my dream my gift will be from Him to me, all wrapped in love;
I’ll feel it in my heart, write it with my hands, and in my eyes I’ll see.
God's sweet serenade of life, He has for me.
He will separate the light from all the darkness, so I can see;
And when I do arrive, I will be free.
Yes, I will find that special place that He's been holding there
With every step and every breath, I'll find His love and know his care.
My words will flow like rivers; my tongue will not be still.
My mind will be as He directs, for it shall be His will.
My journey may be long or short, it's not for me to know,
But I'll find strength to journey on, for my God, He loves me so.
Oh I will find the words to say, as I pass through time from day to day,
I'll send a message to the world, as I write my book of words;
I'll tell about my dream, and how I did receive the gift of God's sweet serenade.

This verse was found written on an insert inside the bible of James Harris, after his passing away on Saturday, July 10, 2021.
“Timothy 4:6-8 - KJV”
6 For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand.
7 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:
8 Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.

To my loving husband ~ Yours always, ‘Mona’, humming . . .Stormy Weather by Etta James
Don't know why, There's no sun up in the sky, Stormy weather
Since my man and I ain't together, Keeps raining all of the time.
Life is bad, Gloom and misery everywhere. Stormy weather.
I just can't get my poor self together, I'm weary all of the time.
When he went away, The blues walked in and met me.
If he stays away, Old rocking chair's gonna get me.
All I do is pray, The Lord will let me, Walk in the sun once more.
I can't go on, Everything I have is gone. Stormy weather,
Keeps raining all of the time.

To my beloved husband, Bob Harris,
I miss you so, but you should know, that your spirit is all around me; It's in my air, and everywhere! I love you so. I know you're watching over me, so I'll try my best to be strong for you, and go on each day, with things I need to do, while with each move I make, and every thought I think, I'll think of you. I pray that you've found peace, and that you've found rest without discomfort, and that you are feeling free, as your spirit takes flight away from all the turmoil of this bitter earth, just don't forget to love me from afar, that's all I need.
