Obituary of Patricia Anne Evans

Patricia “Patti” Evans, age 74 passed away on March 14, 2021 after a long illness.  Patti was born on April 25, 1946 in Pasadena to Fred and Thelma Evans and grew up in the LA area.  She graduated from La Mirada High School and attended Cerritos Junior College.   Patti found that she enjoyed the beach more than the classroom and it was there that her reputation for being the ultimate sun worshiper began.

In 1972, Patti started a 28-year career with Western/Delta Air Lines.  In 1987, her job took her from LA to Seattle where she met her future wife Sarah.  Patti loved walks along Puget Sound; enjoyed coffee and fresh flowers (sweet peas were her favorite) from Pike Place Market.  Patti loved baseball and became a diehard Mariners fan.  She always looked forward to Spring training and the return of baseball season.

In 1993, Patti and Sarah relocated to Atlanta. Working for Delta, she enjoyed assignments that took her to many countries.  When she wasn’t traveling for work, she loved relaxing in the sun and enjoying an adult beverage.  Patti loved a clean car and was known for always having a dust rag handy.  After retiring from Delta in 2000, they moved to Las Vegas where Patti could be found at the pool or eating out or enjoying a fun game of dice with friends.

Patti loved Christmas and each year made her special eggnog for her friends and family.  She also loved all things ‘Scottie’.  Over the years, Scottish Terriers were always part of the family.

Patti is survived by her wife and life partner Sarah James, nieces Kathy (Ken) Bennett and Cheryl DeBow, great niece Kristeen Bennett, great nephew Cory (Maddii) DeBow and their little son Colt who was a special joy to her.  She was also close to Sarah’s family and loved them as much as they loved her.

Patti was proceeded in death by her parents, her sister Mary DeBow, her brother Fred Evans and great nephew Kevin Bennett.

Patti was loved by many, and her impact on all who knew her will keep her alive in their hearts and memories forever.  There may be a Celebration of Patti’s Life at a time when it is safe to do so.
