Obituary of Bernard Bronstein

Bernard Bronstein, age 89, of Las Vegas, passed away on Wednesday, November 11, 2020. Bernard was born April 19, 1931 in Toronto, Canada to the late Sol and the late Celia Bronstein. Upon leaving Harbord Collegiate High School, Bernard went directly into the six-year pre-med/medical school program at the University of Toronto. After completing his internship in Washington D.C., he and his wife, Min, relocated to the West Coast to general surgery training and start their family. Bernard was always recognized by family, friends and colleagues as brilliantly, intelligent with an insatiable appetite for knowledge. He was multi-lingual in English, French, Latin, Ancient Greek and Yiddish, and eventually returned to formal schooling to receive a law degree without taking time away from his medical practice while his children were in high school. He loved big band and country western music, magic, ice hockey and computing, and was an unparalleled, tireless, loving caregiver to his ailing wife and soulmate, Min, to his final day. Bernard was survived by his wife of nearly 66 years, Min Bronstein, who unfortunately passed a short two and a half months later. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Andrew and Karen Bronstein; son-in-law Ashley Hargraves; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Robert and Diane Bronstein; and grandchildren Allison Bronstein, Erica Bronstein, Jared Bronstein, Corey Hargraves and Holley Hargraves. He is pre-deceased by his beloved daughter, Robin Bronstein Hargraves, just four years prior. Services will be private.
