When I first met Steve he was so loving and happy to meet me, as his mother-in-law . He found out that I was a sports person and we would watch the games together. Also, I loved eating one of his meals he cooked for us. We would always talk about music. He will be truly missed. I will always keep the good time that we spent together.Much love Rest In Peace.

Steve and I were A&M brothers. We started working there nearly as kids at almost the same time, me just 6 months before him so we were newbies together. We became great friends from then on, more than 40 years. We worked with many of the same producers, engineers and artists. I would start with someone like Henry Lewy and do a year or so and then Steve would take the reins. I remember his cool funky house in Sunland Tujunga area where we had my bachelor party from my first marriage with all of our A&M buddies. Lot's of memories of great times together. RIP my friend and to T and Jordan, Shaina and Chelly, my deepest condolences.

My condolences to Steve's family.
Steve was my neighbor growing up, we lived-in a great neighborhood and have many wonderful memories. One memory of Steve, is he had a band at an early age and on Saturdays in his garage on Ratner Street corner of Gosford they would play all day it was so fun watching them practice Dirty Water over and over, us kids loved it. Later in my twenties I worked with Steve at A&M records that was a fun job especially when Steve would call me into studio as backup for Brother Johnson. Steve was a talented mucisian and great person to have grown up with, a life well lived.
RIP, you are missed, Debbie Hill Zahavi

I co produced/directed the documentary on engineer/producer Henry Lewy "The Man Behind the Music," in 2018. Knowing his history with Henry he was one of the first to be interviewed and could not have been more gracious and supportive in our tribute to Henry. I know how much Henry thought of Steve and his contributions to the many projects they worked on together. Steve stayed in touch with us through out the production process checking to see if he could assist us in anyway. Henry spoke kindly of his years with Steve and always looked forward to seeing Steve when he would visit while in Prescott, AZ. A great friend to Henry and many others. Steve was a kind and compassionate person and will be missed.

I was so close to my dad since after I was born in 1996, words cannot describe how much I am going to miss him dearly. He use to tell me this acronym called, EGBOK. That means, "Everything's Gonna Be O.K." He'd always share oldies music with me and my sister Shaina Katz, classic cartoons on Boomerang, movies from the past, and lots of other adventures and good times we had together as a family. We loved reaching out and communicating by texting each other as father and son. I will really miss you so much dad. I love you.

Steve was always kind to me, funny and gave me great deals at AC/DC and Armadillo. Steve loved his children! Shaina and Jordan, sending you both, along with Thresa and all those who loved your Dad, so much love and comfort today.
