Obituary of Richard Edward Shengulette

Richard Shengulette, known by his partner as "Rick" and his friends as "Shingles", age 83, a 20-year resident of Las Vegas, passed away on Wednesday, October 14, 2020. Rick was born on January 23, 1937 in Rochester, NY to the late Edward Shengulette and Caroline Streeter Shengulette. He was an All-American football player while attending Madison High School in Rochester, NY, and earned a football scholarship to Ithaca College in upstate, New York. Rick was a long-haul truck driver and had many hobbies. Among them was cabinet and furniture making, leatherwork, Sudoko, writing stories, keeping up on politics, watching old movies and binge-watching Netflix films. Rick is survived by his partner of 30 years, Gail Dupre', his children, Julie and Randy Shengulette of Rochester, NY; Jason Dupre'of Norfolk, VA, Ben Dupré of Santa Clara, CA, and Philip Dupre' of Mountainview, CA; and seven grandchildren. Contributions in Rick's memory may be directed to Magen David Adom, the Israeli Red Cross. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 22, 2020 at 2:00 in the courtyard at Temple Sinai on Hillpointe Road, Las Vegas.
