Obituary of Arthur Elliot Peyser
Arthur Peyser, a longtime resident of Las Vegas, NV, and a cancer survivor, passed away at age 72 on August 15 following a months-long hospitalization due to a fall sustained in April.
He was the oldest child of Dr. Joseph and Selma Peyser, formerly of Hillside, NJ, and Lake Worth, FL.
He is survived by his brothers Paul and wife Diane of Springfield, NJ, and Robert and wife Karen of Bridgewater, NJ, and five nieces and nephews.
Arthur was a 1965 graduate of Hillside High School, and a 1969 graduate of NYU, where he received a bachelor's degree in mathematics.
He began his career in the actuarial program at Metropolitan Life in New York City, and later worked as a computer programmer at Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY, before moving to Las Vegas.
He volunteered as a math tutor in St. George, UT, and as a pianist at several nursing homes in the Las Vegas area.
He enjoyed playing chess and video poker, and entertaining his exotic birds while playing piano.
Arthur was known for his math prowess, his wry sense of humor, and for his generosity and kindness toward his many devoted friends.

Interment is scheduled for Wednesday, August 26, at Beth Israel Cemetery in Woodbridge, New Jersey. Please contact the family for live streaming information.
