Obituary of Gene Edward Granito

Gene Edward "Gino" Granito, age 68, of Honolulu, died Sunday, August 12, 2012 in Las Vegas. Gino was born April 12, 1944 in Syracuse NY. He is the son of the late Anthony and the late Edith Granito. Gene was retired from the Honolulu Police Department and the State Liquor Commission. He also served in the Air National Guard and Reserves. Gene was a devoted family man who loved boating. Gene is survived by his wife Shawn; children Gina Vasconcellos, Dino Granito, Jeremy Granito, Cary Smith, William Smith and Matthew Smith; grandchildren Micah Vasconcellos, Kylie Vasconcellos, Jordan Granito, Ryan Lopresti, Jerika Ramirez, Kira Granito, Kaimana Granito and Henry Kelii Smith; siblings Anthony "Mickey" (wife -Bobbie) Granito, and Diana (husband - Ralph Good) Good; nieces and nephews Anthony, Sanford, Uilani, Alice, Angela, Rhonda, Jenny and Kevin; his beloved dog Maggie; and friends too numerous to list. He is predeceased by his parents Anthony and Edith and his brother Ernie. There will be a memorial gathering for family and friends on Thursday, September 20 from 1pm - 6pm at the Granito home @ 7901 Ramblewood Avenue LV NV 89128. There will be a service at St. Anns in Kaneohe, Hawaii on October 27; more information to follow.
