Obituary of Wayne Echt

Wayne Echt, 66, an optimistic, inspirational, gentle spirit passed away on July 23rd, 2012 after an incredible and dignified 12-year battle with non-Hodgkins lymphoma Born on October 21st, 1945 in London, England. Raised in Chicago, IL and then later in the west San Fernando Valley, CA. Born with cerebral palsy, he often suffered ridicule, but never complained. He touched many lives with his kindness, wit, and humor. Wayne attended California State University, Northridge and studied law at the University of La Verne College of Law. He owned a process service business before moving back to Chicago where he worked for the State of Illinois investigating job descrimination claims. He later moved to Las Vegas with his late wife Michelle [Tannen]. They were both lifelong Cub fans. Wayne's interest in jazz then him to become the Jazz Coordinator at Osher Life Long Learning Institute at UNLV. Along with his late wife, he was predeceased by his mother Lillian [Rubenstein] Echt. He is survived by his father Bernard, sisters Joan & Renee, his niece Sara Kitnick, and other relatives in Las Vegas, the Chicago area, East Lansing, MI, London, England. Israel and around the world. Visit www.rivkefamily.org. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 25th at 4PM at Kraft-Sussman 3975 S. Durango Dr., LV, NV 89147. Family and friends will then meet at the Blue Fire Supper Club 4275 S. Durango Dr. immediately following the service. A brief interment service will be held on Thursday, July 26th at 10am at King David Memorial 2697 E. Eldorado Lane, LV, NV 89120.
