Obituary of Rachel Rothman

Rachel Rothman, age 79, of Las Vegas, died Thursday, June 21, 2012. Rachel was born November 20, 1932 in Breslau, Germany. Rachel was raised by her beloved father, Erick Leschziners along with her grandparents and aunt. During the Holocaust she was hidden by a farm family. Her father, grandparents and aunt all perished during the Shoah. Rachel spent her entire life mourning the tragic death of her beloved father, Erick Leschziner, who was murdered in Dachau. Rachel was a very generous and energetic woman. After arriving in the United States in 1950, she lived in Brooklyn NY, Bellmore NY, a number of cities in Southern Florida and ultimately Las Vegas. Rachel loved animals, nature and the arts and was politically liberal. Rachel is survived by her children Brenda (Moshe) Weitzberg of Highland Park IL, Steven Cyzner of Austin TX and Alan (Mecheala) Rothman of Ft. Lauderdale FL and grandchildren Oran and Keren Weitszberg and Zachary Rothman. A graveside service was held on Monday, June 25, 2012 at Woodlawn Cemetery, 1500 Las Vegas Boulevard North, Las Vegas, NV.
