Obituary of Barnard George Welton

Barnard George Welton, age 92, a 15 year resident of Las Vegas, died Thursday, June 7, 2012. Barney was born October 22, 1919 in Chicago IL to the late Barnard and the late Jennie (Lipawsky) Welton. Barney served in the Air Force during World War II, flying over 100 missions, in almost every major battle of the war. Barney was an entrepreneur who had a number of successful businesses in Detroit and Florida. He had a wonderful sense of humor and was loved by everyone he met. He was a loving family man, setting a great example with his iron-clad family values. Barney is survived by his children Lori Welton of Newport Beach CA, David Welton of Northborough MA and Mark (Sally) Welton of Reston VA; grandchildren Scott (Kristie) Welton, Kelly (Jason) Richie and Brad (Manou) Welton, Jennifer and Andrew Welton; great grandchildren Jackson and Georgia Richie, Charlie, Johanna and Henry Welton, Tyler and Lexi Welton; and siblings MIlton Welton of West Palm Beach FL, Ruth Maldever of Detroit MI and Jean Goren of Detroit MI. He was predeceased by his wife of 65 years, Peggy Welton. A memorial service will be held 1:00 pm on Monday, June 11, 2012 at Acacia Springs, 8630 W. Nevso Drive, Las Vegas. .
