Obituary of Seymour "Sy" Baranoff

Seymour "Sy" Baranoff, 86, of Las Vegas, NV passed away April 11, 2012. He was born December 25, 1926 in Newark, NJ. After his World War II tour in the U.S. Army as Corporal Tech 5, Sy attended Pace College, then became a small business owner in NJ. Upon retirement, Sy moved to Florida and then on to Las Vegas to enjoy life with his family. There he was honored by the Las Vegas Southwest Rotary as a Paul Harris Fellow. Sy was known for his gregarious personality, generosity, quick wit and extraordinary bowling skills. Every day was "another day in Paradise" for Sy! He is survived by three children; Scott Baranoff, M.D., Susan Baranoff Langsner, and Seth Baranoff; son-in-law, Scott Langsner; and three beloved grandchildren, who were his greatest pleasure; Alexis, Matthew and Jacob. Services will be at 9:00 AM on Monday April 16 at Kraft-Sussman Funeral Services, 3975 S. Durango Dr., #104, 89147, followed by a private interment at the Southern Nevada Veteran's Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City. The family will sit shiva at the Langsner home on Monday, April 16 from 4:00-8:00 PM, with a minyan at 7:00 PM.
