Obituary of Brillante Christopher Santillan

Brillante "Bill" Santillan, 68, of Las Vegas, passed away June 19, 2011. He was born November 25, 1942 in Manila Philippines to Florendo Montemayor and Consuelo Chan Santillan. Bill earned his Doctorate of Medicine at the University of Santo Tomas and continued working in the area of family practice for 38 years. He was distinguished as one of the most outstanding residents in Radiology at Harlem Hospital Medical Center and went on to become the Department Head of Pharmacy and ICU of Belleville Memorial Hospital in Illinois. Bill was the former Medical Director of Community Hospital in Staunton, IL and a former member of Illinois Medical Society, Philippine Medical Association of Greater St. Louis, and the Association of Filipino Physicians of Southern Illinois. He was a member of St Elizabeth Ann Seton in Las Vegas and St Michael's in Staunton, Illinois. In his free time, Bill was an avid reader and writer of poems; he loved to fish, loved the beach and was an avid dog lover. Bill is survived by his wife of 36 years, Betty Espinosa Santillan; three sons Christopher Michael, Lee Jouver, and Bill Franco; sister and brother-in-law Digna S. Bello and Silvestre Bello; brother and sister-in-law Prudente C. Santillan and Nenita Santillan; nieces and nephews Dr. Maridol S. Bello, Duke Bello, Nina Santillan and Leah Guzman; and in-laws Gen & Mrs Edgardo V Espinosa & Family, Mr & Mrs Norman de los Reyes & Family. Mr & Mrs Regino V Espinosa Jr & Family, Mr & Mrs Conrad Recasas & Family, Mr & Mrs Jose Macairan & Family, Mr & Mrs Eric V Espinosa & Family, Mr & Mrs Stanton Royce & Family, Mr & Mrs Ariston Livica & Family, Mr & Mrs Richard V Espinosa & Family, Mr Vince Agram & Ms Maila Espinosa & Family. A visitation will take place at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 1807 Pueblo Vista Drive, Las Vegas, NV 89128, from 10:30 AM-12:30 PM on Saturday, June 25, with Mass to follow at 1:00 pm.
