I had met Ms. Copening at my fathers funeral in 2012, she was friends with my brother and sister inlaw. Allison was warm amd welcoming. She talked about her brothers battle with cancer and time she spent in the assembly. She was a beautiful lady with a big heart. I found out over a year later that she had passed. God must have needed her more and her time was served well down here.

I am truly sorry to hear about this, so many months later. I had the pleasure of knowing Allison thru her late friend Diana Hampton. She was a delight to say the least. My sincerest condolences to her family.

Dear Allison,
Every day that goes by without you here, is harder than the next. I hope my Dad and Husband are with you and smiling together. I am sure you have had a Hello Dance for my Dad by now. The three most important people in my life are now angels. Spread your wings and be free.

So sad to hear the news of Allison's passing. I will never forget her kindness to me and my siblings after our Dad's passing. Allison met with us in preparation for my Dad's service and I remember her compassion and as she listened, laughed, and cried with us as we shared stories of our Dad. She brought us peace during a difficult time. I did not know Allison well, but I knew her enough to know that she was a compassionate spirit that brought a beautiful light to the world. I will forever be grateful to her for honoring my Dad in such a special way. I still keep the beautiful words she spoke the day of his service.
To Allison's family and friends, I am truly sorry for your loss. My heart is heavy knowing the pain you are experiencing. Allison's kindness and grace impacted all of the people who were blessed to come in contact with her, even if just for a short time. Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers. Allison displayed compassion and love during her short time on earth, my hope is we all learn from Allison's display of selflessness, passion, and humanity and pay it forward in every way. Peace and love to you all. Sleep in peace sweet Allison.

I knew Allison primarily in a work capacity, but it was impossible to ignore her passion for helping people and for causes that she cared about. On a fairly recent telephone call I mentioned to Allison in passing some concerns I had about elderly care as it related to my family member. I was really just making small talk and trying to vent some frustration, and Allison didn't know this family member. But immediately she caught fire over the injustices she saw. By the end of our conversation, Allison was ready to talk to some of her legislative contacts and see what she could do to improve Nevada's elderly laws! I will miss working with Allison and our discussions.

Allison and I shared different bonds as Alumni of Channel 8. We didn't work at the station together...I was a news reporter there prior to her becoming the Community Affairs Director. When she worked for KLAS, I was the Director of Communications for Clark County. In our first meeting discussing possible mutually beneficial programs, there was no mistaking that she was determined to make a difference in peoples' lives.
About a month before her passing, Allison called me to talk about possible joining her business as she saw my many posts on FB regarding age discrimination and the difficulty I was having finding employment. We had planned to meet after the holidays...now we'll meet in Heaven.
Allison was a very special person who personified charm, grace, faith, love, an unwavering desire to help others and so much more...what a Christian is supposed to be. She will be missed.

Today I say goodbye to my dear friend. She wasn’t a close friend. I didn’t know intimate details about her and her journey. We didn’t go out and have drinks or meet up for coffee all the time. She was dear... meaning special. And significant. Allison was the kindest person I’ve ever met. Her heart...pure. Her smile...genuine. Her empathy...sincere. She spoke to every person she met with a longing to understand them, their journey and how she could help. And even through death she helped when she gave herself to 84 people so they could continue to live.
I watched as she kicked breast cancer’s ass. I cheered her on as she represented us in the Senate. And I reveled in her compassion and empathy when she became a Life Celebrant.
I cry deeply for this loss. Her spirit will live on in our community through the lives of those she’s touched. Myself included. I am truly blessed to have known Allison. Until we meet again my friend.

It says alot that in working with Alison for about 4 years, I never knew she was a former State Senator. I knew her as one of the most attentive and kindest people I remember as a Receptionist for Pardee Homes. I know you're at peace with the elders and your best friend. Rest in Paradise Alison. May God continue to comfort your entire family.

Love you Allison, please hug Joe and Kyle for me - You have been the biggest inspiration to me since I met you at Del Webb back in 2000. You were my first call when I found out Joe was at the end of his life on this earth and you helped planned the celebration of the decade for Joe and all his friends and buddys at Del Webb. I love you Allison - I will see you on the other side - RIP
