Obituary of Timothy Edward Fritel

Timothy Edward “Whiskey Man” Fritel, 50 of North Las Vegas, Nevada passed away on September 19, 2019 in his home.

Tim was born in Rugby, North Dakota to Edward and Patricia (Morgan) Fritel on June 8th, 1969. He went to high school at Cando Public High School and graduated in 1987. He completed training in Fargo as an airframe and power plant mechanic, but after a surprise decision from his then girlfriend of nine years to join the Air Force in 1996, he graciously accepted her proposal of marriage and spent the next 20 years as a dedicated military spouse. During that time they were stationed in Northern and Southern California, Southern Illinois, North Dakota, Nevada, and Texas before settling in North Las Vegas upon his wife’s retirement from the service. Despite the difficulties of the frequent moves, Tim found engaging work in a number of different professions including lodging maintenance, golf course construction, shooting range supervisor, and gun sales associate at both Cabela’s and Bass Pro Shops. An avid hunting and shooting enthusiast, Tim was at his happiest in the outdoors with family and friends and took great pleasure in introducing others to those pursuits. A lifelong player and hockey fan, Tim quickly made following the Vegas Golden Knights an ardent activity as well. Taking advantage of a vibrant live music scene, he was a regular at the Las Vegas establishments such as the Sand Dollar Lounge where he enjoyed listening to blues music and gathering with friends.

Tim is survived by his wife Nichole; his mother Patricia of West Fargo, ND; his brother Tom (Loralie) Fritel of Argusville, ND; his sister Rebecca (John) Halland of Lake Park, MN; and his brother Edward (Lori) Fritel of Fargo, ND. He is also survived by his father and mother-in-law William and Deniece Sailer of Cando, ND; sister and brothers-in-law Justin (Sabrina) Sailer of Bremerton, WA, Lance Sailer of Bisbee, ND, and Brock Sailer of Cavalier, ND; nine nieces and nephews; and a number of aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Edward; his grandparents Rudolph and Catherine (Brossart) Fritel; and Homer and Charlotte (Jacobson) Morgan.
