Matt when I received this news last week, my heart was absolutely broke . I will always remember our long conversations where you encouraged me and listened when I needed to vent about work and life. You were a good friend, and I will never ever forget that as long as I live. To Matt’s family, I hope you find peace and comfort, and my condolences and love are with you. He will be forever missed.

I was Matthew’s forensics teacher at Green Valley High School. He was a polite, thoughtful, and helpful young man. Matthew was always willing to help his peers with their speeches, providing helpful tips and insights. He was very encouraging toward his teammates. And he always went about his work with a smile on his face. After he graduated, Matthew helped our team organize a couple of winter socials at the bowling alley where he was employed part-time. He was fun to work with, and he went the extra mile to make sure we had a good time. I am sad to hear of his passing and will miss him dearly.

I knew Matt for years when he was in elementary, middle, and high school, and he was always a very bright, fun, and generous boy. Matt would come by and help me in my classroom both at Bartlett and Lamping Elementary Schools. He was friends with my best friend, Sue Inghram, (his GATE teacher and counselor) who died when Matt was in high school. So, through her, I got to know Matt even more and to like him. After Sue passed away, Matt would come and visit me, and we would keep each other company. I just wanted you to know that I loved Matt very much, and I will miss him!

I remember many a times when Matt would come to the dealership with his mom. She was so proud of him and he was so confident in his knowledge and ability to accomplish whatever he wanted. I’m saddened by this news as he was one of the good guys! He truly gave me hope that the future generations weren’t as bad as people would say. Matt will be forever remember for his smile, laugh and willingness to help anyone in any situation. For the family I’m so sorry for your loss.

We were remembering Ron and I how we would tell Matt “boy” do you have the gab to talk. He would come over and talk to us for the longest time and Lori would come looking for him We would tell Matt you are going places you are so smart he would leave our home with a smile and happy. Following weekend he would be right back again talking our ears out we loved hearing him.
Matt Until We Meet Again
Those special memories of you will always bring a smile if only we could have you back for a little while. Then we could sit and talk again just like we use to do you always meant so very much and always will do too. The fact that you're no longer here will always cause us pain but you are forever in our hearts and we will meet again

I lost a grandson much too soon. He was so loved and was so special. Matthew was funny, a heart warming giving person who loved to help people young and old. You helped the homeless at the age of 9, tutored children at age of 14, teacher's requested you to help in their classrooms and you jumped at your friends and family beckon call. So I say to all: CHERISH EVERY MOMENT when you are with family or friends as you never know if that is the last time you will see them.
(Don't give Grandpa and aunt Bernita too hard of a time).

Dear Matthew,
I know you are with us, watching us from above. It’s crazy to think you were just a kid when we first met. In that time, you learned to drive, graduated, had a career and owned your own home. You accomplished so many things in a short period of time. Everyone was so proud, especially your mom.
Know that you were and are so deeply loved. You helped so many people, not only in your line of work but also off duty from memories told in the past days. I’m sure in heaven you will do the same; however in angel form.

Matthew is my son. I could not be a prouder mom than I am of him. He was so proud to be a police officer and took his oath very seriously. He has so many people that love him and will miss him. He has such a beautiful soul that god must have a special plan for him. I know that my life will never be the same not being able to see that beautiful face and be able to hear his voice. At least he will always be in my heart and soul. He accomplished so much at such an early age and has made such an impact on so many peoples lives, he will truly be missed.

I Am Not Gone
By Injete
I am not gone
I remain here beside you
Just in a different form
Look for me in your heart
And there you will find me
in our love which forever lives on
In those moments when you feel alone
Look for me in your thoughts
And there you will find me
in sweet memories that burn strong
Every time a tear
Forms in your beautiful eyes
Look up to the heavens
And there you will see me
Smiling down from God’s glorious skies

Matthew had a heart of gold. This loss of life so young will deny people who hasn't met him the love and friendship they could have had. Being his Aunt was a priviledge and I will forever be broken hearted.
I love you Matthew and don't think for one minute that I wont look up to the sky and miss you every second.
Your angel will guide you to your way and take care of your Grandpa and Aunt Bernita. Their waiting for you with open arms.

I was blessed to share in Matthew’s life the last 20 years. He was a sweet and kind young man. He always hugged me when he came to visit. He and his Mom were kind enough to come celebrate my 80th birthday this year. I showed them some of Waco’s sights and Matt got to see the Texas Ranger Station and put up a patch from the Las Vegas Metro Police in the gift shop.
I will miss you so much. May God hold you close to his heart.

I was blessed to share in Matthew’s life for the last 20 years. He was a sweet and kind young man. He always hugged me when he came to visit. He thought he wouldn’t get any fudge this Christmas since I had moved to Texas but I surprised him by mailing him a Christmas box. He was so jazzed to get some. He and his Mom were so kind to come to Texas to celebrate my 80th birthday in February. Matthew was the first guest I saw. I couldn’t believe he was there. He said “you don’t think I would miss this, do you? Afterwards, we did some sightseeing and he got to visit the Texas Ranger Station. He got to put up a LV metro police dept patch in the gift shop. May God keep you in his arms. Joanne
