Tita Betty was a beautiful and generous soul. I lived in Osaka as an international student and only met Tita Betty after I was newly married to David. I clearly remember being in awe of her busy life in Tokyo, raising 5 gorgeous children with Tito Vasu, and driving a van big enough for a family of 7.
When I met her, Tita Betty knew that I was starting a new family in the United States and she wanted me to always remember my years in Japan; she brought me to Takashimaya’s home section to choose my souvenir. Tita Betty helped me decide on a set of laquered miso soup bowls; she bought me not only one set, but two sets of the same, explaining that the standard Japanese set of 5 is a strange count for any set of dinnerware, probably talking from experience as her family grew to 7. (I didn’t know about the standard “sets of 5” at the time.)
From then on, my collection of Japanese dinnerware expanded, always acquiring 2 settings of different size plates, saucers, bowls, cups and even chawan mushi cups. The catalyst miso soup bowls always stand out among my dinner table setting.
In the United States, David and I had the pleasure of hosting Tita Betty in Philadelphia. Tita gave me a hand-made bracelet of beads which she herself created with my Tita Belen. I will remember Tita Betty fondly. I will do my best to cook delicious miso soup deserving of my fine laquered bowls, and wear my bracelet with a smile knowing that they are gifts from a wonderful woman.
Our hearts go out to the beautiful Rupani Family. May you find comfort in friends and family during this time of grief. Please accept our sincere condolences.
Rest In Peace, Beatriz Ocampo Rupani.
Goodbye, dear Tita Betty. Godspeed.

We are deeply saddened to hear about the passing away of Mrs Beatriz Rupani. On behalf of the entire staff of Mr Vasu Rupani's companies in India, I convey my heartfelt condolences to her family. A few years ago, she had visited our country. She came across as a warm, gentle, unassuming and soft spoken person. It was our pleasure to have met her briefly during that period.
It is important to remember that "THOSE WHO LIVE IN THE HEARTS OF OTHERS NEVER DIE". We pray that her soul rests in eternal peace.

Tita Beth is a loving and caring person, even though she lives far, but she doesn’t forget her family in the philippines. Whenever she comes home she always find time to see everybody. I remember the time when she traveled to holy land she told me that she will stop by at LAX so we can meet I’m so excited and looking forward to see her because it’s been a long time since the last time I’ve seen her which it’s in the philippines. I finally get to see her she handed me a bottle with the Virgin Mary in a holy water. I still have those in my possessions. When I found out that they moved here in the states I message uncle Vasu so I can find out where they at and visit them. Uncle VASU gave me the info. I’m so excited to see everybody, but when I get there I was so shock to see her being sick. I always remember her as an active, vibrant and cheerful person. I will always cherish the time that we spent together you’re my idol and my second mom. I love you tita beth I will always be grateful to be a part of your life.

Our deepest sympathy to the Rupani family. Please find consolation in the fact that Betty is now resting in a better place. We will pray for the eternal repose of her soul.
We met Betty in Japan in the year 2000 when we were posted in the office of the Defense Attache at the Phiippine Embassy in Tokyo. She is such a gracious and modest lady. We will always remember her smile and yes! her signature delicious chicken curry.
Rest in the loving arms of our Father, Betty.

It was so nice to visit with Betty in Las Vegas for a brief time. I saw her happiness when she FaceTimed with her kids. And in the middle of sadness it was beautiful to see her reaction when Adam and Saya walked into the room. Rest in peace Betty knowing how much you are loved by your family; as you have so dearly loved them. -Dedee
