I remember Allen as a kind friend in High School. I don't think I ever told anyone, not even Allen, but he was my first crush. I enjoyed watching him play goalie. I remember him working in the local bagel place in Calvert. Several years ago, my mom asked me if I knew an Allen Roth from High School, as he was my dad's podiatrist. I sent a hello as did he. That was my last contact, though second-hand. I'm glad he had a good life with family and career. I will always remember him as a kind, humane person. My condolences to his family. He left too soon.

My heart felt weak and sad when I heard of the passing of Dr. Roth. The day was filled with thoughts of him. I was privileged to have worked side by side with him at Advantage Care. He was special, caring
and positive every day. The day always turned positive when he came through the door. His care for people and intelligence and knowledge were so honorable. He spoke about his day that started at 430 am in Bellevue as Director of Residents and ended with caring for our individuals at our clinic in the evening hours. He was always smiling and lifting the spirits of the staff around him. I would often hear him talking to patients about fishing and the Yankees. He lifted hearts daily. I was lucky to talk to him daily about the Yankees as well since I was a fan myself. I would often seek his advice and inquire about care for the individuals we cared for. He would always teach and give his time to share his expertise. I was privileged to be in his path. He was a mentor with true heart for not only his profession and expertise but for people. He was a friend. My condolences and sympathy to his wonderful family. He will be in my heart forever.

You were my extended family and the times were good. When we were kids, Allen was the fun big brother I never had. My hope for all of you is that you cherish his smile, his laugh, his jokes and the joy he found in life.

Allen was first my mentor, quickly became a friend, and eventually felt like family. I met Allen as a resident in Gouverneur Hospital back in 1980. Anyone that knew Allen was sure to know he had horrific handwriting and spoke as quickly as any auctioneer. I thought how am I going to learn anything from this guy. Slowly I deciphered his chart notes and trained my brain to be on turbo mode whenever speaking to him. His words of wisdom, sense of compassion, and kindness always shone through. A more gentle, humble man you would never meet. I’ll never forget the lessons learned. Ones that shaped my career using the values he instilled in me. Allen and I also had another connection. Ceil was best friends with my sister-in-law. I would see Allen and Ceil several times a year through this “family” bond. We would catch up on each other’s families, Podiatric careers, discuss the latest treatment options, and always end our conversations with jokes. It wasn’t a get together until the jokes came rolling off our tongues seeing who would get the best belly laughs! I write these words with a smile on my face and tears in my eyes. I planned on so many more family gatherings in Las Vegas with you, Ceil, and your kids. I’m going to miss you Allen. Forever in my heart and nothing but good memories in my mind. My sincerest condolences to Ceil, Michael, Jason, Rachel, and to rest of the Roth family and friends.

From the day we moved in next door and beyond, Allen and Ceil were our family. Thru all the ups and downs; I could never begin to tell you about all the help and guidance; and the impact you’ve had on our lives. I am simply devastated by the loss of my dear friend, Al. We worked side by side for most of our careers at Gouverneur and Bellevue Hospitals. He shared his skills and sharp acumen with countless residents and students. He also shared his life lessons with them and no doubt they all loved him. He was easy to love!! Kind, gentle and always had a good word for all. He made everyone he met feel special no matter what station in life. He had an uncanny ability to untangle the web of life and always saw the light. He walked with me to the highlights and the pitfalls of my life. I will never forget him and will carry his memory in my heart every day of my life.

I met Allen and Ceil through their baby girl, Rachel, about a year ago. And this I'll say. The Lord has blessed me with intuitive sight and upon meeting the Roth family, I knew they were genuine, kind-hearted, warm people. Allen was quick witted with a beautiful, brilliant mind and a charming personality. I looked forward to spending time with them here in their new home, Las Vegas. But alas, that was not to be. The Father, picked his sweetest fruit and Allen was called home. Ceil, Rachel, Jason and Michael; my heart goes out to you in this time of sadness. Randa and I are here for you...

First I want to offer my heart felt condolences to the family and friends.
I grew up in the neighborhood with Allen his family and Ceil and her family. They were the older kids. They were kind, joyful and watchful. It was wonderful to look up to each and everyone of them. Such great, motivating and inspirational mentors. I can’t speak of Allen without thinking of Ceil as they were always a pair! I can’t imagine the loss but offer the thought, how LUCKY you were to have found each other and built a beautiful family. You may never know how fond my memories of you are but I assure you...I will never forget Allen, his smiling face and kind heart!
I wish you peace and love in the memories of Allen Leslie Roth, God speed

With reference to Walt Whitman, Allen “contained multitudes”. At once he possessed superior intellect, wit, wisdom, talent and compassion. It was a joy to be in his presence and I consider myself blessed to have enjoyed him for decades. The speed with which he was snatched from our lives will forever disrupt my spirit but will be countered by all the loving memories I have of this truly wonderful man.

My deepest condolences to the Dr. Roth's family. My heart is broken when I heard of his passing and still can't believe his gone. His the most wonderful, caring man and father figure to me. When I came to Bellevue Hospital '97 he welcomed me as part of the Bellevue family and ever since then I have been forever grateful. He always asked me how was doing and how's my children. Few years ago, I had a broken toe that I didn't imagined nor knew I had. He sent me for xray and treatment me. He took care of me as MY PODIATRIST. I'm sad that your gone. ALWAYS have you in my heart and remember good times. Wishing for Dr. Roth family to be strong.
