Obituary of Barbara Margolis

Barbara Margolis, age 80, a 20 year resident of Henderson, passed away Friday, February 22, 2019. Barbara was born October 31, 1938 in Brooklyn NY to the late Jack and the late Lena Rhoda Like. She worked as a bookkeeper in the office supplies industry. Barbara was a wonderful mother. After moving to Las Vegas, Barbara got involved with the Jewish War Veterans and served as the Quarter Master for a couple of terms, as well as volunteering on a number of committees. She was also actively involved in Las Vegas Sew Girls, and in over 10 years she helped them sew over 6,000 pieces of clothing for wounded veterans. Barbara also enjoyed playing Pan and Mah Jong with her friends. Barbara is survived by her husband of 62 years, Donald; children Jeffrey (Dee) Margolis of Calabasas, CA, Lynda (Leslie Katab) Margolis of North Hills CA, and Susan (Jim) Smith of Henderson NV; grandchildren Matt Margolis (Jordan Grossman), Mitch Margolis (Jerika Barron), Annie Margolis, and Hannah Smith; brother Donald (Marvene) Like' and numerous cousins, nephew and nieces. She is predeceased by her brother Harvey Like. The funeral service will be held at 8:00AM on Friday, March 1, 2019 at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veterans Memorial Drive, Boulder City, NV.
